2 Days to Go!

Hard to believe only 2 days to go until #2 arrives! Mum had her pre-admit today at the hopspital to go over everything. She's feeling apprehensive, but obviously looking forward to that baby a) getting out, and b) arriving safe and sound.

Good news so far on the Chicken Pocks front. No sign of them on Ari as yet, although apparently the incubation period can be a while before the spots arrive. The obstectric specialist believed that Ari may still hold some passive immunity from the breast feeding he had right up to 2 years, and the baby should also have mums immunity when it arrives. However if it all goes down and Ari does get em, we've had some great treatment advice from a good friend of mums in Holland. Thanks Sancia!

Well this will probably be the last post till baby arrives, then i'll do my best to get some photos and an update on here as soon as i can.

The photo is of mum & Ari Guy Fawks night. Ari watching fireworks for the first time.

Wouldn't ya know it...

Found out yesterday that one of Ari's mate's, his next door neighbour, the one he hangs with most days, has got Chicken Pocks! We're hoping and praying the boy hasn't picked them up, what with baby only days away. Last thing we need with a new born baby is a toddler with the pocks. Especially with the obvious risk to baby.

This is a shot taken not too long ago. What a cool fulla!

Cheeya!

We had a funny little moment with Ari a little while back I thought i'd blog. Every night before dinner, we thank Jesus for our food. So we held our hands (as we do) and say... (well Ari shouts) "Thankyou Jesus for our food!" Down went the hands and on with the food, a few seconds later Ari says "Cheeya!" J and I both cracked up realizing that every night before dinner, from Ari's point of view, we thank the cheeses.

#2 Talk

Been talking to Ari lots about #2, not sure if he quite gets it. I almost get the feeling he's looking at us sideways thinkin' "yeah righto, i'll play your silly game... yeah sure mummy and daddy... sure there's something inside there."

By the way, no this is not mum's tum (just in case there was any confusion). Not too much chance of her letting me post a photo of 'THE' tum on the blog. Well... not unless I want to be able to naturally father more children that is.

Oh yeah, also if you ever feel like it, you can post a comment below, and i'll pick it up the next time i'm on the blog. Fa!

Rain & Fireworks

Last night we all went with family & neighbours to see fireworks. We'd been building Ari up to it for a couple of weeks, so he was suitably primed for the spectacle. The weather all day was amazing, then in good ole New Zealand fashion, right on 5pm (start time) the weather closed in. Fortunately our neighbours had saved us some seats under a bit of shelter, so the night unfolded for the Mcd's, in a reasonably dry fashion (except when Ari decided he'd had enough of sitting around and wanted out in the rain - good ole dad of course, sent out to brave the elements).

All in all was a good night out with good people, and the fireworks were pretty flash, Ari of course loved it. So much fun watching him gasp at it all in wonder. Felt sorry for poor little bub in mum's tummy though, he must have been wondering what the hell was going on. He kept mum awake for quite a while after it.

Fun & games at the Supermarket

Poor very pregnant Mummy. Ari and Mum got to the counter yesterday, bags of groceries loaded on to the conveyer. Mum thought Ari had been particularly good... quiet even on their way around. It all became clear soon enough as to why, Ari began to power chuck all over himself, his mum and pretty much anything else within a 2 metre radius. Fortunately trusty Pak'nSave staff were at hand with handee towels at the ready. Poor little boy, he must have been feeling shocking. Ahhhh yeah... the joys of mummyhood!

Baby's On the Move!

That baby wants out! Mummy has been having contractions since Monday (including a near sleepless night last night), we even get to the point where we start timing them, but they have so far subsided. We had a Specialist check up yesterday and baby is fully engaged - D3 - Ready to Rock! We're booked in for a C-Section Fri 25th Nov, but Specialist said she would be surprised if mum made it to the end of the week. Hmmmm???

Whanau Get Together

Last weekend all of the members of my family currently residing in Napier, came up for the weekend. The family were spread out amongst family here in Auckland. Was great having everyone together, although collectively we had 10 kids all running around which provided an interesting dymanic at times.

Ari looooved having his cousins around though, especially his boy cousins, fantastic seeing him larking about with them getting to know them, and them him.
